Today is the 55th anniversary of the explosion of a planted bomb under the road that killed Burns (driver) and Lt. Burke who was riding on the front of the track.
I was assistant driver and TC as well as 50 gunner and riding in .50 cal hatch when the bomb was detonated. I was thrown clear and somehow survived to come and reunite with you guys. I really look forward to seeing all of you again.

This sounds very familiar. What company was this, please? I was medic with Delta.

Any time anyone is interested in details for one of our men killed in action...I spent years posting detailed accounts on memorial pages on this site. This effort, which also includes a photo of every man, was completed several years ago.

Burns: https://www.ichiban1.org/pdf/Memorial/Burns.pdf
Burke: https://www.ichiban1.org/pdf/Memorial/Burke.pdf

A quick trip to those pages....and you would know all of the details such as: Company B, 3rd Platoon.

The memorial pages can be reached from two place on the website home page:

The memorial photos page: https://ichiban1.org/html/photography.htm#3
The In Memoriam Pages: https://ichiban1.org/html/bnkia.htm
