Ben Alvarado
"Ben served with us on his third tour in Vietnam!  He saw plenty of action with a perimeter Duster crew in Tuey Hoa during Tet of 1968. During his second tour, he came down with Malaria and was sent to Germany to recover. I recall he hated Germany and had put in for another stint in Vietnam.  He was approved for the tour and joined the 1/50th while we were either at Song Mao or shortly before we went there.  Ben could read a map &  tell a joke with the best of them...and knew how to take care of his people.
