Global Warming

Postby Randy Smith » Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:56 pm

If it were not for global warming I'm afraid we'd be in trouble right now. Here in Seymour, Indiana (the hometown of John Mellencamp the singer and Miss America Katie Stam) the thermometer dipped to minus 9 degrees and tied a record set in 1926. The windchill was reported to be around 30 below zero.

My son R.J.Smith had to deal with his furnace blower motor burning out during this cold spell but handled it well and everything is alright except for a few singed hairs, it's a long story.

The thing is I'm sure glad Al Gore is working on this global warming or we would be up the icy creek

Here in Missouri were I live the snow is waist deep and still falling. The temperature was 14 below zero and the north wind was at a gale force making the wind chill at around 50 below.
I had done nothing all day but look through the kitchen window and just stare.

Carolyn (my wife ) yelled at me to say if it gets much worse she may have to let me in.

It's 2018 and the problem is getting worse every day. We've only 4 months of winter now hardly, which used to be for 6 months many years back.
