Just wanted to introduce myself and to those association members on the forum - my name is Chris Lewis & I am the new Battalion CSM of 1-50 IN at Fort Benning.

CSM Whittington & myself conducted our Change of Responsibility Ceremony last Tuesday at Kanell Field - He & I were classmates at the Sergeants Major Academy & he went above and beyond to ensure that I was up to speed with the day-to-day business of training Infantrymen here at Benning.

I returned in June from a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan as the Brigade Operations SGM for the 3rd BCT, 10th Mountain Division, and have also had assignments with the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Infantry Division, 1st Armored Division, USASATMO, Recruiting Duty (in Maine) and Drill Sergeant Duty (Fort Jackson) - my wife Mikey is here with me at Benning & we'll be celebrating our 9th Anniversary next March

I am humbled and honored to be the CSM of such a historic unit; I'm a bit of an amateur military historian & am enjoying reading the history of the Bayonet Battalion. Thanks for your continued support of the BN & we look forward to seeing you all at next year's reunion

Mr. Lewis great to hear from you. It will be an honor to meet you at the reunion next year. Always neat to meet new faces . The reunions have really helped me heal a lot and now I really look forward to them. See you in May and take care of them troops.

CSM Lewis,
It has been a while since I have been to the board because of computer problems and a busy schedule. Just saw your post and am looking forward to meeting you next May at the reunion. May your time with the 1/50th be as good as or maybe better than some of your other assignments. PLAY THE GAME.
