Today I posted a poem in our local paper, the Peninsula Clarion in Alaska, in honor of all our military and thinking of those who have served before. Also thinking of those lost on May 5, 1968 including my brother Donald E Lowe. On a side note, things are changing for my wife and myself, and for anyone wanting to reach me, our address will change as we are leaving Alaska after almost 50 years of living here. We are moving to the lower 48. The new address will be 1613 W Martin Street, Elma, WA 98541 and my new number will be (360) 789-5791. I will keep my email address: snodinak@gmail.com. Please feel free to stay in contact and come visit if you are in the area. Anyone from the 1st and 50th will always have a bedroom to camp out in. The one person I wish could visit would have been James Fitzgerald, who became like a brother to me. I still keep in touch with Koren, his lady, and hope some of you do as well. Thanks, Bill Lowe

My Protocol

Each year in May, our military we observe.
Thank you for giving; your willingness to serve.
The rewards you receive are far less than you deserve.

Lord, bless our military, I whole heartedly pray;
keep our soldiers protected, and out of harm’s way.
Bring each one home safely, back to the US of A.

Guide their families. Let their courage not cease.
Watch over them with love and grant them your peace.
Lord, safeguard them; all fear, completely decrease.

Be with each soldier daily, and long past nightfall.
Keep their troubles few and their woes ever small.
Stand by them, protect them, ‘tis my protocol.

Very well done, Bill. James is on my mind. I am here because of his efforts.
