Indeed, never forget. Thanks, Bob. Jay Copley called today and I called Gary Quint. Fred Maida called Jay. I am traveling, but cell is 314-799-1843. We Had relatives of at least three of the 5 May KIA families at the just completed reunion. It was very special. If you don't have a sense if this anniversary, check out the numerous war stories about it on this site. Harry

I had a chance to visit Bruce Backes' grave a few weeks back...on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. His marker was somewhat overgrown with thick grass & I cut it away so the entire stone could be seen. I then took a new photo & replaced the old one on his memorial page. I was not at the battle, but back at Uplift that day. I will never forget Ron Heinecke coming to tell me Bruce had been killed. I quit the war that day...but it was pointless...as that war has had a hold on me ever since.

It has given me great personal satisfaction to be a part of the memorial efforts you all have supported for all our men killed in action.

I will be thinking of all of you "survivors" today...as you all go through your remembrances in your own ways.

God bless you all.
