May 5, 1968. 55 years ago today. Those of you that are new to this site … check out The Battle of An Bao. Those of us that were there will never forget and honor the 22 brothers that lost their lives. It’s also a day to remember the outstanding leadership of Cpt. Jay Copely who led C Company into the kill zone to save the remaining men from A Company. When I was in the hospital in Qui Nhon, the guy in the bed next to me, from A Company, had taken an AK round through his right shoulder. When he found out I was with C Company, he reached over with his left hand to shake my hand and thanked me for saving his life.
